#BokFriday: Merebank learners spring into action in support of Boks [Video]

Excitement fills the air at Merebank Secondary School as learners show their support for the Springboks ahead of the Rugby World Cup final.

SCORES of learners, teachers and staff at Merebank Secondary School put on their green-and-gold shirts in support of the #BokFriday campaign and for the Springboks team as they get ready to take on the All Blacks, the New Zealand rugby team, at the 2023 Rugby World Cup final on October 28.

Kishan Bridgelal, the school’s acting principal, said they were proud to support the #BokFriday campaign.

“We asked staff and learners to dress in the Springbok colours, green and gold, as the campaign aims to harness the power of sport to uplift spirits and create a wave of positive energy across the nation.”

Vimla Chetty, the acting deputy principal, added, “We are 100% behind the Springboks as they defend their title. The whole school came out in green and gold, fostering a sense of unity and optimism. We also wanted to show the Springboks and the world that we are #StrongerTogether. We are hoping to see Captain Siya Kolisi lift the Web Ellis trophy.”
