THE Caxton Cares B3 project has helped warm the community after donating blankets, beanies and booties, lovingly handmade by generous community members, to various NPOs in the Durban South.

The project, spearheaded by editor Roelien D’Amico and Gerda Mac Gregor, once again highlighted the power of community spirit and compassion.
“This is truly a humbling and rewarding experience,” they said. “Seeing the joy on recipients’ faces when they realise they have something that is theirs to keep forever is incredibly special. This is the second year that we have been able to bless those in need, thanks entirely to the generosity of our community, who so willingly gave their time, talent and energy to this worthy project. We simply could not have done it without you. Thank you for making a difference. You are truly appreciated.”

He is a relatively new face in the journalism scene as he just recently graduated. He has a Bachelor in Journalism degree with a major in television. As a journalist at Southlands Sun he focuses on a variety of beats of news from hard news to social events and sports. He works as a multimedia journalist utilising his love for the camera and social media to good use.
