NOTICE OF INTENTION TO SUBMIT AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT IN TERMS OF SECTION 24G OF NEMA FOR THE UNLAWFUL COMMENCEMENT OR CONTINUATION OF ACTIVITIES IDENTIFIED IN TERMS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT REGULATIONS, 2014 AS AMENDED REF NO: S24G/03/24-25/0703 SECTION 24(G) APPLICATION: Notice is given, in terms of Section 24(G) and Sections 24(F) of the National Environmental Management Act – NEMA (Act 107 of 1998) as amended that Omeida 426 CC (applicant) intends to submit an application for authorisation in terms of Sections 24(G) and 24(F) of the National Environmental Management Act 107 of 1998 as amended for the unlawful commencement of listed activities on Holdings 106 of the Blue Hills Agricultural Holdings, Midrand, within the jurisdiction of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng Province. The draft Environmental Impact Report will be submitted to the competent Authority, Gauteng Department of Environment (GDEnv). PROJECT DESCRIPTIONS AND LOCATION: The unlawful commencement of activities occurred in July 2022 within a wetland, wetland buffer, Critical Biodiversity Area (CBA) and Ecological Support Area (ESA) without obtaining the required environmental authorisations. The activities included the construction of a boundary wall, manholes, an attenuation dam, stormwater infrastructure, boreholes, a culvert and a parking area within environmentally sensitive areas. The development is located at Holdings 105 and 106 of the Blue Hills Agricultural Holdings, Midrand, and is accessed via Acacia and Mimosa Roads. The site coordinates are 2557`29.68″S, 2805`24.17″E.
