NOTICE OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT PROCESS (BASIC ASSESSMENT) FOR THE APPLICATION OF MINING PERMIT FOR THE EXTRACTION OF SAND, STONE ,AGGREGATE AND GRAVEL ON PORTION OF PORTION 7 OF FARM 3RIETSPRUIT 347 IS AND ON PORTION 32 OF FARM KROMDAAIR 416 IS SITUATED WITHIN THE LEKWA LOCAL MUNICIPALITY UNDER THE GERT SIBANDE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY MPUMALANGA PROVINCE. REFERENCE: MP 30/5/1/1/3/16207MP AND MP 30/5/1/1/3/16206 MP Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 16 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, Act 28 of 2002 (MPRDA) read with Section 41 of Chapter 6 of the EIA Regulations, published in Government Notice No.326 of 7 April 2017 published in terms of National Environmental Management Act (107 of 1998) as amended with the intension to undertake an Environmental Impact Assessment.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT AND PROJECT LOCATION

Blue Diamond (Pty) Ltd have applied for Mining Permit for extraction of sand, stone, aggregate and gravel. The proposed mining activities will take place on a portion of portion 7 of farm 3Rietspruit 347 IS and on portion 32 of farm Kromdaair 416 IS situated within the Lekwa Local Municipality under the Gert Sibande District Municipality, Mpumalanga Province. Site coordinates are :Site A= 2643`25.36″S & 2928`10.40″E and Site B =2655`32.06″S & 2926`49.50″E
