EDITOR – As a ratepayer and taxpayer I would be very pleased if the Ethekwini Council could tell me how they justify paying for foolish festivals, red carpets for maidens, expensive funerals and so on, and yet they find it absolutely impossible to pay the rent on the library at Montclair.

This library is absolutely necessary to assist all the students, particularly at this time of the year.
I wonder who will be the first to have something to say when the matric rate is a lot lower this year?
Blame Ethekwini Council for that. Maybe our so-called hard-working mayor should stand outside the library asking for donations towards the rent.
