TUESDAY, 16 APRIL: Al-Anon family group meets at Bluff Methodist Church’s lower hall at 11am. This recovery support programme is for family and friends of those who abuse alcohol and drugs. Call the Al-Anon office on 031-304-1826 for information.

 

TUESDAY, 16 APRIL: Montwood Senior Citizens Care Centre hosts a social meeting from 9am to noon at 199 Kenyon Howden Road, Tray Bang hall. A two-course lunch and refreshments are available for R25. Bingo is on the last Tuesday of each month. All seniors over 55 are welcome to join.

 

THURSDAY, 18 APRIL: The Women’s Friendship Guild meeting this month takes place at the Assegai Hall, corner of Brighton and Assembly Roads, Bluff at 9.30am. For more information call Margaret Everett on 082-724-5741.

 

SUNDAY, 21 APRIL: The Visually Impaired Bowlers Association has its weekly bowling afternoon at Berea Bowling Club in Durban from 1pm to 4pm. Blind and partially sighted people who are prepared to join this association can look forward to an afternoon of fun and fellowship playing bowls. FRIDAY, 26 APRIL: The Dutch Reformed Church, 49 Old Mission Road, Bluff will be holding a basaar/ fête in the church hall from 4pm to 7pm. There will be lots to eat, so give yourself some time off in the kitchen and enjoy a lovely meal with friends. For more information contact the church office on 031-467-2392 between 8am to noon Monday to Friday.

 

FRIDAY, 26 APRIL: Grosvenor Girls’ High School hosts its annual senior citizens tea party from 10am to noon. All seniors over 65 years are welcome. There is no charge. To book a place, contact the school on 031-467-3614 and leave your details with Lucky or Wiseman.

 

SATURDAY, 27 APRIL: Durban and Coast SPCA will be holding a book sale at the Bluff Road Spar. The community is urged to attend this worthy cause. For more information call the SPCA on 031-579-6500.

FRIDAY, 10 MAY: The Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) will be having a Mother’s Day breakfast fundraiser at The Point Water Sports Club, 1 Mahatma Ghandi Road from 9am. Cost is R180 per person and booking is essential. Contact Lana Bartholomew on 031-462-1127, or email to info@crowkzn.co.za. All money raised go towards the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured, orphaned or displaced indigenous wildlife.
