SA prepared for Ebola fight

Health department keeps an eye on the Ebola Virus outbreak.

The country’s nine provinces in 44 districts have trained outbreak response teams regarding the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak.

Further, regular meetings are being conducted at national level to monitor the EVD outbreak and the country’s preparedness measures.

This was said by the Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi.

The minister convened with the portfolio committee of health to discuss how to respond to the EVD.

He said: “Even though no cases have been reported in the country, our department has continuously been monitoring the risk and assessed the situation as the outbreak unfolded.

“Preparation and response measures are still needed due to the spread of EVD cases.”
