Moroka Police Station Station communications officer John Serala has confirmed that one foreign national was shot dead at Phiri, Soweto.
Serala said: “As our officers were busy patrolling at Phiri location they were alerted about an incident where residents were looting a foreign national owned shop.
” When the officers arrived on the scene they fired rubber bullet and tear gas to disperse residents and through thorough investigation and search inside the shop, the officers discovered a dead body at the back-room with a bullet logged on the chest,”
“We have opened a murder and house breaking case, we are searching for suspects and we will be taking some residents in for questioning.”
