Matiti Mhlongo, secretary of the community task team said police are provoking residents and arresting them.
“We had a peaceful protest yesterday, the police are making it violent,” she said.
Evans Leboa said his brother was arrested as he stepped out of his house.
“My brother did not do anything wrong, the police just took him,” he said.
It was reported that some protesters tried to burn chairs from Sakhumzi Restaurant.
Mhlongo said this was not true.
“It is all a lie.”
