Children removed to safety

Alleged drug dealers issued with warning letters.

During an operation by the Local Drug Action Committee on Sunday, three children were removed from a house to a place of safety.

LDAC approached alleged drug dealers and issued them with warning letters to stop their illegal dealings.

A house in Extension Four was in shambles with broken windows, clothing scattered across a bedroom and leaking taps in the dark house.

The children, who are all under 10-years-old, were removed from the house while an arrest was made for possession of ammunition.

ID and passport documents, a knife and a toy gun were found on the property.

At another house, a weed plant was removed.

Tension grew as alleged drug dealers approached the deputy chairperson of LDAC but was quickly calmed.

Threats were also made to the LDAC chairperson.

K-9 units were called in later the evening where they returned to the home in Extension Four where an arrest was made but weren’t allowed entry.

They pounced on other houses but made no arrests.

Residents are urged to forward the addresses of lolly lounges or places where illegal activity takes place to crimeline on 32211, acting station commander on 082 556 4812 or deputy chairperson Allistair Fredericks on 072 223 1617.
