Diepkloof Zone 2 faces planned power interruption for emergency maintenance
Residents and businesses are expected to be without electricity as Eskom carries out emergency maintenance on its distribution network.
Residents and businesses in Diepkloof Zone 2, Soweto, are expected to experience a power interruption on Thursday, September 3, while Eskom conducts emergency maintenance on its distribution network.
According to an Eskom Gauteng Cluster notice, the interruption is scheduled to continue until 18:00 to allow technicians to carry out essential maintenance on distribution power lines.
Eskom Soweto spokesperson Innocentia Zabala urged affected customers to exercise caution during the outage.

“Customers are advised to treat all electrical appliances as live at all times during the power supply outage,” Zabala said.
She said the maintenance was necessary to ensure the work could be carried out safely on the electricity distribution network.
Eskom apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused by the interruption and appealed for their cooperation while the work is under way.
The power utility also cautioned that the planned maintenance could change should circumstances beyond its control arise.
