The flying squad responded to a tip off by residents and arrested a 73-year-old woman from Klipspruit West for possession of drugs.
According to constable Thuli Ngwenya from the Kliptown Police Station, residents made a call to the police about a house suspected to be a drug den.
“Responding to the information the members (of the flying squad) acted swiftly and proceeded to the address, where a search was conducted and packets of drugs were found hidden behind a TV stand,” said Ngwenya.
In addition to the drugs, a cash amount of R54 900 was found hidden in a flower pot. The woman was detained at the Kliptown Police Station and is due to appear in court soon.
