Crime prevention strategy yields arrests

Police chase and arrest a man who didn't stop when signalled to.

Eldorado Park police arrested a man for the possession of a stolen vehicle.

“Police were patrolling on Union Road where they identified a Toyota Tazz and signalled the driver to stop.

“The driver sped off and police gave chase,” captain Phillemon Khorombi said.

The suspect was caught and detained by police.

Meanwhile two suspects were arrested for robbery with a firearm and possession of a dangerous weapon.

According to Khorombi, a complainant was approached by two males with a firearm and took a cellphone.

The complainant informed police who were patrolling in the area at that time.

The men were arrested and taken into custody.

The cellphone was recovered and it was found that the men were in possession of a toy gun.

“These are major breakthroughs and we can already see that the strategy by our station commander is working,” said Khorombi.
