Last week Friday the Riverlea Community Forum (RCF) opened a criminal case regarding illegal dumping by Central Rand Gold SA and Travel Days Siyabhabha D H Recycling and waste management systems.
Mark Kayter, Randall Alexander, Robin Wheatley, Robert Mannering and Rinaldo Smith all form part of the Riverlea Community Forum
According to Alexander who is the secretary of the forum, Lieutenant Colonel Mahasha the station commander of the Langlaagte Police Station and officers of the Johannesburg Metro Police waste management department has been very welcoming and supportive of our endeavours.
“We will receive the case number and will meet with the Metro Police to show them areas where the illegal dumping has been taking place within the community as part of their official investigation,” said Alexander.
The RCF would like to thank the Bench Marks Foundation for all their assistance thus far.
“We would further like to say to the residents of Riverlea that the time for keeping quiet is over we cannot sit back and allow companies to dump at our back door.
“It is frustrating to know that the rubble which these trucks bring into Riverlea comes from The M1 highways upgrade and Sanral,” said Alexander.
Residents also joined RCF in their quest at the police station.
