One of Soweto performing art legend and Lets Play founder Sizwe Vilakazi hosted visual art workshops for pupils during this school holidays.
The workshop at Chiawelo Library had a theme to celebrate the late former state man Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.
“When it comes to arts, I make sure that I go all out and give the greatest lessons and workshops to these young arts fanatics because art is one of the special fields that needs determination and passion.
“These days, we have the opportunity to make a great living and career off arts, hence I decided to host such workshop for these children.”
Vilakazi said this year’s workshop has a very special meaning for the organisation and the children who attended the workshop.
“We aimed at celebrating and honouring the late president Nelson Mandela and create a legacy for the organisation and for the children who were taught about his life, struggle to fight to end apartheid and his legacy he has left internationally.”
Vilakazi said the children were given the chance to create a portray of Mandela that they can frame and treasure at their homes.
