Man’s corpse found on April Fool’s day

Corpse found near hospital, car found in Booysens

A pedestrian discovered a man’s body lying along Chris Hani Road and the M12 off-ramp on April 1.

“The pedestrian alerted a passing ambulance about the dead corpse, the paramedics then informed the police of an investigation at the scene,” according to Captain Hitler Ngwenya, the spokesperson for the SAPS Soweto East Cluster.

The deceased’s car was found on the M1 Road at Booysens by a friend on the same day the body was found.

The friend alleged that the car was splashed with blood inside. Police were called to the scene in Booysens along with the wife of the deceased who confirmed that the car belonged to her dead husband.

A messy crime scene was what we had been given, and it is sad that such atrocious crimes occur in our communities.

The alarming rate of murder is of great concern to the SAPS and extensive measures of investigation are taking place.

“We promise nothing less than justice,” said Commander Major General Patricia Rampota.

A request was made for any person with any solicited information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects in this gruesome murder to contact the nearest police station.

“We also implore the public to refrain from taking matters into their own hands, as this is deemed dangerous for them,” said Rampota.

A case was opened.

The case is being investigated.
