The Valley of Elah – Conference 2017
This year’s conference marks the first of many partnership conferences to come with The Fatherhood Foundation of South Africa and Healers Foundation.
The Fatherhood Foundation of South Africa and the Healers Foundation have joined forces to launch an Evangelistic and Restorative movement to the area through the “Valley of Elah – Slaying the Giants” Conference.
The conference took place from July 10 to July 16 at The Masters Field, corner Dowling Avenue and Steytler Street in Westbury.
This follows the successful Fight for the Family Conference which took place at the same venue in 2016.
This year’s conference marks the first of many partnership conferences to come with The Fatherhood Foundation of South Africa and Healers Foundation.
“This is an evangelistic and restorative conference aimed at confronting the social evils plaguing our communities and families”, says Evangelist Wayne Josias of the Healers Foundation.
“Our aim is to create an environment and opportunity for people in our community to not only receive the restorative grace and healing of Jesus Christ but also to learn skills that they can apply in their lives to enable them to change their circumstances,” adds Zane Meas of the Fatherhood Foundation.
The launch of the movement consisted of workshops in the areas of youth development programmes, single mothers support a feeding scheme, a health awareness day and art in ministry training programme.
Day programmes started at 12 pm until 3 pm on selective days with evening services commencing every evening at 7 pm.
The main speakers were Josias of the Healers Foundation and Meas of the Fatherhood Foundation of South Africa.
The Valley of Elah was the battleground for the war between the Israelites and the Philistines in the book of Samuel chapter 17.
The Five Stones David picked up to fight the giant Goliath represents the Five Fold Ministry (apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher).
Even though David only used one stone to bring down the giant it is this five-fold anointing that God will use to bring down the Goliath of poverty, addiction, abuse, gangsterism, fatherless families, and death.
The movement was said to be Evangelistic because the Good News will be preached, people will be convicted and the love of Jesus will be proclaimed with the aim to bring the oppressed and beleaguered to the fullness of Christ Himself. Deliverance, Healing, and Freedom being the desired outcome.
It was also one of Restoration with the aim of restoring and strengthening the hurt and broken society by bringing them back into alignment with the plan of God for our lives as laid out in scripture.
(2 Chronicles 7:14, Malachi 4:5-6, Acts 3:19-21, Amos 9:14, Revelation 21:1-5 to name a few).
Partnerships have been developed with the local pastoral fraternity to ensure that this message does not stop at the end of the conference, but is continued and supported through the local church communities.
