Celebrating Women’s Day with Women Walking with God
Everyone enjoyed an eventful and joyous celebration as all the women were made to feel like the special ladies they are.
On August 9, Women Walking with God hosted a Lakeside Women’s Day celebration for the underprivileged ladies of Westbury, Newclare, Claremont, Bosmont, Florida and Greymont.
120 women descended on Florida Lake for a fun-filled day of sisterly company, relaxation and enjoyment.
The event was planned as an opportunity to give back to the community, by indulging disadvantaged women in a joyful and meaningful Women’s Day experience.
The visionary behind the successful event was Rosemary Best, a team member of Women Walking with God, who previously organised a Mother’s Day breakfast for disadvantaged women in May.

“There are women who don’t have the opportunities that we do. There are women who live in abusive situations and women who are raped.
“They can’t celebrate this day because of the pain they experience,” said Rosemary.
Jacqui Davis, another member of Women Walking with God explained that the majority of women in attendance have never experienced time away from home or a day out.
“Mothers spend their time rearing their children and looking after their families. We decided to do this for them,” said Jacqui.
Attendees were treated to breakfast, lunch and all-day music entertainment that ensured old-school favourites continued to play throughout the day.

The ladies also joined in on some classic games, which included an egg-and-spoon race. The ladies also engaged in a prayer reading. Best gave thanks to everyone in attendance.
“Women’s Day is every day to me. We mustn’t just wait until the 9th of August to celebrate this day, but celebrate every day. Women are strong people. They are the people who keep families and communities together,” said Jacqui.
Everyone enjoyed an eventful and joyous celebration as all the women were made to feel like the special ladies they are.
