Collen Arivhathihi is an epilepsy sufferer who went missing on May 18.


When a relative goes missing, the entire family is distraught and left wondering about their whereabouts and well-being. The only course of action left to them is to mount a search for their  loved one until they are able to find answers.

Collen Arivhathihi, a 43-year-old from Diepkloof is being sought by his  family after his disappearance from home on May 18. According to his family, the last time he was seen was at about 7 am in the morning.

Mary Ntimbane appealed to anyone who may have spotted the 43-year-old to call her if they know of his whereabouts.

Collen Arivhathihi has a history of epilepsy, although he has not been to the hospital for his scheduled check-up, according to the family.

Ntimbane said, “Collen is really a cool, calm and collected individual, who gets along very well with most people and he likes to laugh and to make other people laugh.”

Although Collen Arivhathihi is not that much of a soccer fan, he is a Kaizer Chiefs supporter.

Ntimbane, who has been searching for Collen Arivhathihi ever since his disappearance said that they have reported him missing at the Diepkloof Police Station already and searched the area where he said he would be to collecting money in Faraday.

Their search at hospitals and police stations have yielded no positive leads or results, which has left the family frantic with worry.

Ntimbane said, “We have even gone to South Rand Hospital because it is closer to where he said he was going the last time we saw him, we thought he could have fallen in a fit and a stranger may have helped him to the hospital.”

The missing Collen Arivhathihi collects and recycles bottles which get collected by a truck from Faraday, where he last said he was headed.

He is a responsible alcohol consumer who has no close friends and prefers staying indoors, according to his family.
