The Barcelona Winter Tournament is making a comeback and organiser, and Mapetla Barcelona mentor, Doctor Moloi is motivated about the success of this youth soccer extravaganza. He said he will be oganising yet another winter competition for youngsters.

He has another tournament which is played over the festive season and says it has grown to be bigger than the past years as the number of teams taking part keeps growing each year.

“My mission for the winter tourney is to grow it to become big like the festive one.

“We had more than 120 teams participating in the tournament last year and we enjoyed every moment of the event. The success of the tournament saw teams from KZN, Mafikeng, Duduza, Tsakane, Daveyton, Natal Spruit, Rathanda, Vaal and Soweto taking part and we were grateful to have soccer scouts in the event.”

The tournament saw a great deal of success as participating teams were knocking each other out clashing for a prestigious trophy. It catered for the U9, U11, U13. The date for the upcoming tourney will be announced soon.
