Ismail takes a big step in his writing career
"Sometimes things happen to you and you don’t know why, but there’s a better purpose to everything," Edwin R Ismail.
After backpacking around 24 countries, living in the United Kingdom (UK) for a duration of 16 years and also spending a year in the United States of America, former mechanical engineer, Edwin R Ismail releases his first self-published book at the age of forty.
The name of his eBook is ‘Turning Point’ and Ismail said that he had to go through many failures and other experiences in life to understand that he had to go through them all in order to be the person and writer that he is today.
‘Turning point’ is a fictional book and Ismail explained that there are four different stories in the book namely; The Untouchables, The Untouchables 2, Price of love, and Dead man tells no tales.
When asked how his writing began; Ismail explained that it started in Grade 7 when his Afrikaans teacher asked the class to write a composition and a week later the teacher returned their books and Ismail wasn’t handed his book.
“I raised my hand and told her that I don’t have my book, she then told me to hold on. She then said to the class; ‘if you ever want to write a story, this is how you should do it’ and then she read my story to the class. I got the highest in my class so it started there but I don’t really do anything with it,” he said.
The author further explained that his writing never went anywhere until his near-death experience in 2015 where he then went on to write a book about his experience. Today Ismail is filled with excitement as his eBook is now live for everyone to purchase on amazon.com.
“Sometimes things happen to you and you don’t know why, but there’s a better purpose to everything. Whatever I did in life I always knew that I have a greater purpose. Whatever we do in life we have to make the first step,” added Ismail.
This self-publishing process for Ismail is an act in showing that he believes in himself and he sees this as one of his biggest achievements.
Ismail also started a Peace Movement called; PUMSA which stands for People’s United Movement of South Africa which he hopes will help to promote peace in the country and all over the world through mass meditation.
The author is also a copywriter, ghost-writer, proof-reader, technical writer and researcher. Visit the link to Ismail’s blog https://edwinsblog77.wordpress.com to know more about the writer.
