Juniors get back to their league games
With the school holidays, there was quite a few teams and players who did not pitch for their league games during the weekend.
The Jowest Local Football Association teams returned on the weekend of June 22 from their six-week-long break after the Steven Pienaar Community Cup. With the school holidays, there was quite a few teams and players who did not pitch for their league games during the weekend.
The games must, however, go on, so what happened was that the teams were allowed to play against other divisions but the rule is for teams to only play two age groups up or down, for example, the U11 played the U13 teams or the U9 played the U11 teams that were present. These games still count towards the season’s log as the junior teams’ season ends in September.

On Saturday, June 22, there were not many spectators on the Westbury grounds but the teams waiting for their turn to play sure did watch the games and marvelled from time to time at how skilled the U13 teams were.
In a game between U11 Zico Boys (from Westbury) versus U13 Infinity Stars FC (from Fleurhof) the U11 team had quite a challenge against the skilled players from the U13 side, however, if one watched closely you could see the younger players grasping the skills from the older division’s players and even though Infinity Stars FC won that game Zico Boys walked away with lessons.

The U13 teams are also preparing for the Build it U13 soccer tournament which is the biggest tournament for the U13 division and this is said to take place on September 8. The league will surely go back to its usual fixtures once the schools reopen.
