Elsie Ngidi Primary School in Chiawelo endowed with a library
Mohammed Akoojee of Imperial Logistics said they are in the aim of helping liberalists and they have 38 libraries that they are sponsoring.
While others were celebrating Nelson Mandela Day by engaging in various activities, the day marked the official opening of the library resource centre at Elsie Ngidi Primary School in Chiawelo.
Sponsored by Imperial and Motus Community Trust, it was the 38th library to be supported by the trust.
According to the school’s principal, Philemon Mathibe with this generous sponsorship the library will touch the lives of little ones effectively.
“We want to thank Imperial Mutus Community Trust for their sponsorship.
“We always had an under-resourced makeshift library and miracles do happen, the trust came into the picture and saw the need to upgrade and completely transform it into this modern library resource centre that will ensure that our learners are part of this fourth industrial revolution,” said Mathibe.
He said for the foundation phase Grade R to three, they will ensure that the learners visit the library and learn seven new words every week and that is 365 new words annually.
“Definitely the vocabulary of the learners will be greatly improved. “For Grade Four to Seven, which are the seniors of the school, this group besides normal reading, they will be encouraged to get involved at more leadership and career level ,” said Mathibe.
