Nomgenge Duo Foundation gives back to Eldos through film and a feeding scheme

NDF plans to make the feeding scheme and motivational session an annual event.

The Nomgenge Duo Foundation (NDF) is a Creative Hub that was first established as a platform to create short films in order to interact with the youth of Eldorado Park and its surrounding areas. Not limited to film making, NDF also seeks to empower youngsters within the Greater Eldorado Park community.

Saturday, July 27, marked the official launch of the NDF feeding scheme. The event was held in Kersiedorp, Extension Nine. Siboniso Nomgenge, who is the founder of NDF said that the aim of the event was to give back to the community.

“The idea is to provide a platform for other leaders to give back and inspire the younger generation,” said Nomgenge.

“For the event to be a success we partnered with Fosters dealership, the Goliath and Goliath team, Dimpie Dimpopo and Stacy Lee May who offered motivational sessions for our youngsters,” he added.

Other local partners who made a contribution included Couple Strat Session, Truly Inspired, Girl Walk Academy, GM Spartan Construction, Kicks Clean, KND Tours and Shuttles, I’m Praying For You brand, The Beverage Company and Cooli brand.

“The Barber Empire barbershop volunteered to cut 150 kids hair on the day and Eldos Spurs FC and FC Samuels also volunteered on the day as well,” said Nomgenge.

“Hosting something like this was new and challenging but because of everyone who participated it was a huge success. The aim was to simply give back to the community and we did that, we managed to feed over 400 children,” he added.

NDF plans to make the feeding scheme and motivational session an annual event. “Children are the future therefore they need support and motivation from the community,” said Nomgenge.

NDF is an emerging Non-Profit Organization with community and youth development at heart.

“I believe that the organisation has great potential to change the community but we lack financial support so all forms of sponsorship would be much appreciated. This may include financial support, toys for the second feeding scheme, clothes to give to the less fortunate or groceries to add to the meals that will be prepared,” Nomgenge concluded.
