Ditawana Primary School classrooms receive a makeover
Regardless of the rainy weather, the team executed their goal of painting the classrooms and serving Ditawana learners lunch.
The Absa team and local volunteers had a busy day as they got their hands dirty during a classroom repainting and cleaning project at Ditawana Primary School on November 4.

Regardless of the rainy weather, the team executed their goal of painting the classrooms and serving Ditawana learners lunch.
Collin Molepe, Absa insurance company managing executive said they are proud to announce their new project which forms part as their new partnership with the school and they are working towards having more similar initiatives which they believe will benefit the school.

He added that they are working with qualified engineers and individuals in construction as well as some of their repair supply clients who donated the painting material and provided guidelines on how to use them.
“We have embarked for a number of years now in helping and being part of the communities we operate in.
“We have identified a need in the school where we want to contribute in helping shape the school’s infrastructure and some of the needs they have,” Molepe said.
Molepe also said they hope this small contribution will help make the teaching and learning environment comfortable and conducive.
“We believe this is a starting point of a great partnership with the school.

“Moving forward, we are going to focus on the education aspect and in future we are hoping to adopt some of the learners in the school and invest in their education.
“We sincerely hope that this initiative will enable us to do more for the community.”
Prncipal of Ditawana Primary School, Sonto Luvuno expressed heartfelt gratitude to Absa for choosing their school and help shaping the education of the learners.
“Ditawana is one of the oldest schools in Soweto and we are overwhelmed to receive this visit because we needed these renovations.
“As a school we are faced with various challenges when it comes to the renovations and maintenance of the school infrastructure and our learners deserve a conducive learning environment, so we are very lucky,” Luvuno said.
When it comes to their future plans, Absa and Ditawana Primary School are aiming to prioritise the education of the learners and work together to reach their goal of providing a clean, safe and comfortable learning environment.
