Eldos police apprehend suspect for illegal firearm
Suspect held for questioning as police suspect possible links to gangsterism and drug trafficking.
An undocumented Nigerian national was found with a Glock 27 pistol loaded with 11 live rounds of ammunition at Ext 9, Eldorado Park, on March 4.

The incident occurred around 23:50 during a joint operation between Eldorado Park SAPS Crime Prevention Unit and Gauteng traffic wardens.
According to Brigadier Mkhacani Maluleke, Eldorado Park SAPS station commander, they cannot rule out the suspect’s possible involvement in gangsterism and drug trafficking, given the location’s history of gang-related violence.

The suspect was kept in police custody at Eldorado Park SAPS, he made his first appearance on March 6, at Protea Magistrate’s Court.
