Da Boys FC celebrates 10 years of soccer excellence
Da Boys FC feels a sense of accomplishment and gratitude as they award players and mark 10 years together.
Da Boys FC held an award ceremony to honor players and team management for their dedication to the club and unwavering support during their 10th-anniversary commemoration at JD Opperman Hall in EXT 2, Eldorado Park, on March 1.
The club awarded players and coaches with certificates of appreciation and special awards to top-performing players in all divisions, including boys U10, U12, U13, and U17, and girls U10, U13, U15, and U17.
Allie and Natasha Mangera, parents of Zoe Norton, expressed their pride as they watched their child receive an award for her outstanding performance in the U13 division.

Initially, Natasha was skeptical about Norton playing soccer, but now she’s overwhelmed with pride and happiness.
Allie shared that Norton’s passion for soccer started in the schoolyard, and despite initial reservations, they’ve supported her growth in the sport. Norton has made significant progress, earning a scholarship to a private school and even getting invited to play for Sundowns.

Both parents attend Norton’s games, and Natasha said Norton often reminds her of her initial doubts when she told her that girls don’t play soccer.
U17 central defender Leshaan Roberts won the player of the season award, and together with her teammates, received accolades for their victory in the league and ladies’ tournament.
“It’s such a nice feeling. I feel so proud of myself because I have pushed myself this far.
“I am looking forward to going on with the passion I have for soccer. I have been with the club for three years and I pushed for the girls’ division to be established.”
Shermaine Isaacs, a proud parent, expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the coaches and staff at the soccer club where her three children, Alicia, Tamiya, and Valentino Isaacs, play.
She acknowledged that the club has been a positive influence on her children’s lives, keeping them focused on their goals and away from negative influences.
Isaacs praised the coaches for their dedication, individual attention, and support, not only with soccer but also with personal issues.
“The coaches are always available and have become like a second family to my children.”

Senior team coach Francois Kemp said this was a joyful moment for the club. The coach described the club’s morale as “really high” and said everyone was extremely happy with the progress made over the past 10 years.
He attributed the club’s success to its accepting and inclusive approach, particularly towards girls, allowing them to play and develop their skills. Despite the successes, Kemp acknowledged that challenges have arisen along the way.
However, the club’s strong leadership structure and dedicated chairperson have helped to overcome these obstacles.
“The chairperson carries the team and makes sure everyone fulfills their tasks. He is constantly there to assist us in improving.”
With a decade in the field, the club continues with its mission to create a good environment to develop the youth.
Since its humble beginnings in 2015 with just a handful of players, the club has experienced remarkable growth, maturing into a thriving and dynamic organisation with over 150 registered players spanning multiple divisions.

In the same year, the senior team secured the top-five spot in the Super League. The U15 girls and U17 ladies obtained second place, and the U11 girls won the junior league.
