The Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) and the Gauteng Crime Intelligence (CI) Unit successfully apprehended two wanted suspects linked to a high-profile case of murder and attempted murder in Lenasia on April 14.
Acting on critical intelligence, the AGU team initiated the operation at a local car wash where four males were seated and one of the individuals was swiftly identified as a suspect by a witness present at the scene.

Following this successful apprehension, the team headed to the second location that was pinpointed by the witness.
The AGU and CI members executed a strategic entry by climbing the wall to access the premises safely and a second suspect, a 30-year-old male, was also apprehended along Borapik Street in Lenasia South.

AGU commander Brigadier Maphoto said, “This operation showcases the effectiveness of intelligence-driven policing and the importance of collaboration between units.”
“We are committed to ensuring that justice prevails and that our communities are safe from violent crime.”
Both individuals who have been positively identified by witnesses have been detained at a local police station and are expected to appear in the respective courts soon.
