Officers lead talks on bullying, gangs, substance abuse in Eldorado Park
JMPD joins forces with No-to-Victim NGO in Eldorado Park to empower local youth with life-saving safety tips, as GBVF and substance abuse remain growing concerns.
The JMPD Community Outreach Unit participated in a youth engagement event hosted by the No-to-Victim NGO in Eldorado Park Ext 1.
With the rise in GBVF, this timely session facilitated meaningful interactions.

The children were divided into three age-appropriate groups, allowing officers to address each group effectively.

The discussion covered crucial topics to enhance personal safety and awareness, including:
• The importance of not walking or playing alone in public spaces;
• Why screaming and running are safer responses than hiding in dangerous situations;
• Educating children about the dangers and consequences of substance abuse;

• Guidance on how to react when approached by strangers;
• Risks linked to gang involvement and promoting positive alternatives;
• The impact of bullying and encouraging children to report it.

After the discussions, officers played games and held races with the children, creating a positive, interactive environment.
Pamphlets on road safety and the dangers of drugs and alcohol were distributed to reinforce the key messages.
The JMPD remains committed to strengthening community ties and empowering youth with vital safety knowledge.
