Gogo Maweni to face trial in March for alleged assaults
Gogo Maweni's freedom continues as bail is extended ahead of the March trial.
In the latest development, traditional healer Gogo Maweni, real name Makhotso Mofokeng, briefly appeared in the Protea Magistrate’s Court today, February 11, where her bail was extended until her trial date on March 12.
This comes after Gogo Maweni was initially granted R5 000 bail on January 27, following her arrest on January 19 for alleged assaults with intent to cause grievous bodily harm committed in 2019.

She was taken into custody at Mondeor Police Station and made her first appearance at the Protea Magistrate’s Court on January 20.
The matter was initially postponed to February 11 for disclosure of the contents of the dockets, and with her bail now extended, Gogo Maweni’s legal team will prepare for the trial, where she will face charges related to the alleged assaults.
