40 suspects arrested during Operation Shanela in Jabulani and Norwood

Police arrested 40 suspects for crimes including drug possession, unlicensed ammunition, illegal immigration, and selling liquor without a licence during Operation Shanela in Jabulani and Norwood on 19 June.

About 40 suspects were arrested for various crimes during Operation Shanela that was held around Jabulani and Norwood policing area on June 19.

The operation, which was a joint effort between the SAPS and other law enforcement agencies that included Department of Home Affairs, Gauteng Traffic Wardens, PRASA, private security companies, and divine intervention pastors, led to the apprehension of suspects for various crimes, including possession of unlicensed ammunition, possession of drugs, selling liquor without licence, and illegal immigrants.

During the operation, one suspect was arrested for possession of unlicensed ammunition, two suspects for possession of drugs, and one for selling liquor without licence.

The arrested suspects will appear in court soon.
