Police intercepted a group of masked men in Eldorado Park, uncovering a firearm and ammunition.

A late-night police patrol in Eldorado Park led to the arrest of three suspects aged between 19, 24 and 26 after officers found an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition in their possession.

According to the Eldorado Park police’s media liaison officer, Sergeant Fezeka Kgobo, the arrests took place at midnight while members of the Crime Prevention Unit and Gauteng Traffic Wardens were conducting routine patrols in Milnerton Street, Ext 4, Eldorado Park.

“Upon searching the remaining individuals, police discovered a firearm loaded with live ammunition on one suspect, who could not produce a firearm license. The other two suspects were found in possession of live rounds but no firearms,” said Khobo.

All three suspects were immediately arrested and detained at the Eldorado Park station for further investigation. They are expected to appear in court soon.
