Man charged with rape and assault after incident in Orlando East
A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged with rape and assault after allegedly attacking a woman who had been seeking accommodation in Orlando East.
A 33-year-old man has been charged with rape and assault following an incident reported in Orlando East.
Police said the woman was at a local tavern when she mentioned she was looking for a place to stay.
A man she knew then told her he had a room available and offered to show it to her. They left the tavern shortly after midnight on Sunday, December 7.

According to police, when they arrived at the property, the man locked the woman inside the room and assaulted her.
The woman later reported that the man dragged her to the bedroom, where he sexually assaulted her.
She managed to escape and alerted the police. The man was arrested shortly afterwards.
He is expected to appear in the Orlando Magistrate’s Court soon.
