Eldorado Park man arrested for unlicensed 9mm pistol
A man was arrested on Graniet Street after Eldorado Park SAPS and Gauteng Traffic Wardens recovered a Norinco 9mm pistol and shotgun ammunition during a search of his home.
Members on routine crime prevention patrols across all four sectors received an anonymous intelligence-driven tip-off about guns allegedly kept at a house on Graniet Street.
Eldorado Park SAPS media liaison officer Sergeant Fezeka Khobo said the tip-off included the name of the person who owned the firearms.
The police went to the address and asked permission to search the house, which was granted.

“Officers discovered a large locked safe in the bedroom. Using a key provided by the alleged suspect, they opened it and found a 9mm Norinco 45 automatic pistol with an empty magazine, one black magazine loaded with two live rounds of ammunition and five live rounds and 12-gauge ammunition for a shotgun.”
The suspect did not have a licence to possess the firearm, and was arrested and taken to Eldorado Park SAPS cells for further investigation. The firearm and ammunition were seized as evidence.
