Orlando man makes fifth court appearance in Lebogang Sikwane murder case

The accused in the murder of Lebogang Sikwane, who was discovered by the community in Meadowlands Zone 3, appeared at the Orlando Magistrate’s Court.

After his brief appearance at the Orlando Magistrate’s Court was postponed on December 4, accused Michael Moremi returned to court for his fifth appearance on January 30.

Lebogang Sikwane was found murdered near Masekhene Primary School, close to both her home and the accused’s residence, after she had been missing for a day.

The aunt of the deceased, Tshepiso Maphike, attended the court proceedings with the support of community members and various organisations.

Those who attended left in low spirits once again due to the repeated postponements.

The case was postponed to February 27 due to the court’s recording machine not functioning.

Family members and supporters were left disappointed once again, saying the ongoing delays are emotionally draining for them.
