Five arrested after JMPD recovers stolen goods at Crown Mines

The arrests followed a tip-off regarding a truck offloading a suspicious white substance linked to a Booysens warehouse theft.

JMPD TRU officers received information about a truck allegedly offloading a white substance at Shaft 17 Street, Crown Mines, on March 17.

The officers made their way to the scene, where they found five males offloading goods.

According to JMPD spokesperson, Xolani Fitlha, the officers requested documentation and receipts for the goods.

“The suspects failed to produce any form of documentation. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the stock had been stolen from a warehouse in Booysens.

“A total of 110 bags were recovered at the scene. It was established that additional bags had already been offloaded in North West before the suspects proceeded to the above-mentioned address,” Fitlha said.

The suspects were arrested and detained at Langlaagte SAPS.
