Suspected drug dealer arrested in Eldorado Park with unlicensed firearm and drugs
Police seize firearm, ammunition, and suspected crystal meth during intelligence-led raid in Old Eldorado Park.
A 35-year-old suspected drug dealer was arrested in Eldorado Park after police uncovered an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and suspected drugs during an intelligence-driven operation, on March 16.
According to Eldorado Park SAPS media liaison officer Sergeant Fezeka Khobo, the arrest followed information received on March 15 about a man allegedly in possession of illegal firearms and allegedly involved in drug-related activities at a residence in Juweel Street, Old Eldorado Park.

Members of the SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, working together with Gauteng Traffic Wardens, went into action shortly after midnight on March 16.

Upon arrival at the address, officers found the suspect at his residence. Police introduced themselves and explained the purpose of their visit before conducting a search.
During the search, officers discovered a firearm in the suspect’s possession. A further search of the premises led to the recovery of suspected crystal meth.
Police seized the following items:
• A P4 firearm with the serial number filed off.
• An empty magazine.
• Eleven rounds of live ammunition.
• Sixty-one small plastic packets containing suspected drugs.
• Eight bottles of cough mixture.

The suspect was arrested on the scene and detained at Eldorado Park SAPS cells on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Police indicated that the information obtained will be analysed as part of ongoing investigations into gang-related crime.
Eldorado Park SAPS have urged community members to report any illegal activities.
