Murder suspect arrested in Eldorado Park, firearm recovered
Police traced and arrested a 36-year-old suspect in Freedom Park, recovering a 9mm pistol linked to a murder case.
A 36-year-old suspect linked to a murder and attempted murder case has been arrested by SAPS members in Eldorado Park.
According to Eldorado Park SAPS, the arrest was made on March 23 during routine crime prevention operations conducted by the Crime Prevention Unit together with Gauteng Traffic Wardens.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Fezeka Khobo said officers acted on intelligence regarding a wanted suspect linked to a case registered at Moroka SAPS.

“Members received information about a suspect wanted for murder and attempted murder who was believed to be in the Freedom Park, Devland area. They proceeded to the address and successfully intercepted the suspect,” said Khobo.
The suspect was questioned about an incident that took place on March 15 in Moroka. Although he initially denied involvement, police investigations led to his admitting to the crimes. Khobo added that the suspect also pointed out the firearm allegedly used in the offences.

“A black 9mm pistol with live ammunition was recovered inside the house where it was hidden under clothing,” she said.
The suspect was arrested and is detained at Eldorado Park SAPS for further investigation. Station Commander Brigadier Mkhacani Maluleke praised the team for their quick and coordinated response, noting that teamwork is key in the ongoing fight against crime in the community.
