Jabulani police arrest robbery suspect linked to multiple Johannesburg cases

A 26-year-old man wanted in connection with a business robbery in Jabulani has been arrested after police linked him to several other robbery cases across Johannesburg.

A suspect allegedly linked to a string of business robberies across Johannesburg has been arrested by the police in Jabulani.

The arrest followed an unplanned police operation conducted at Jabulani Hostel between May 4 and 7. The operation was led by overall commander Brigadier Tsotetsi and operational commander Lieutenant Colonel Balram.

According to police, the suspect was wanted in connection with a business robbery at a Boxer store in Jabulani, which was registered in April.

Further investigations linked the suspect to several other business robbery cases reported in Dobsonville, Kliptown and Jeppe.

During the arrest, officers recovered an unlicensed revolver and six rounds of live ammunition.

The suspect was also charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Police investigations into the robbery cases are ongoing.
