Victims identify suspect in Eldorado Park attempted murder arrest

A 33-year-old suspect is expected in court after being arrested during a joint operation by police and traffic wardens.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with four counts of attempted murder following an intelligence-driven operation in Old Eldorado Park.

Members of the Eldorado Park Crime Prevention Unit, assisted by Gauteng Traffic Wardens and Crime Intelligence officers, arrested the suspect at the Hillbrow Flats on June 10 at approximately 18:30.

According to police, officers were conducting routine patrols when they received information about a suspect allegedly linked to an attempted murder case reported in May 2026.

The information indicated that the suspect was at the Hillbrow Flats with a group of friends.

Police proceeded to the scene accompanied by two victims linked to the case.

Upon arrival, the victims positively identified the suspect as the person who had allegedly attempted to kill them.

Police immediately arrested the man and transported him to the Eldorado Park Police Station, where he was detained for further investigation.

Eldorado Park SAPS media liaison officer Sergeant Fezeka Khobo confirmed the arrest.

“Members acted promptly on the information received and successfully arrested the suspect. He is facing four counts of attempted murder and remains in police custody. He is expected to appear in court soon,” said Khobo.

Police have urged residents to continue working with law enforcement by reporting criminal activities in their communities.
