Power outage in majority of Pimville zones

The last power outage was due to cable theft. It took four days for Eskom to replace cables and restore power.

Residents of Pimville braced themselves for cold showers this morning (July 24) following a power outage affecting most zones.

The power went off on Wednesday evening, July 23, before 19:00.

According to the Ward 22 councillor Sebenzile Mabuza, the entire Pimville was affected, excluding Zone 7.

She confirmed that Eskom is aware of the outage; however, they are not certain what caused the outage.

“I spoke to the senior technician at Eskom this morning and he confirmed that a team was sent to the field to conduct a test. I will share updates once I receive communication from Eskom,” said Mabuza.
