City of Johannesburg takes service delivery outreach to Thulani and Doornkop
Residents will engage directly with city departments at a public programme focused on infrastructure, waste and service delivery challenges.
Residents of Thulani and Doornkop will have the opportunity to engage directly with various City of Johannesburg departments during a public education programme on Saturday, April 18.
Officials from the city’s health department, development planning unit and the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) will be on site as part of efforts to bring government services closer to communities.

The engagement will take place at Bonamelo Primary School, where residents can interact with officials, raise concerns and receive feedback on key service delivery issues.
Ward 129 councillor Phumlile Shange said the programme will focus on critical matters, including road and infrastructure development, as well as ongoing challenges related to illegal dumping.
Shange has urged residents to attend in large numbers and actively participate.
“We will address the naming of streets. Pikitup will respond to waste collection challenges, while the Johannesburg Roads Agency will deal with issues relating to potholes, road markings and the bridge,” said Shange.
The initiative forms part of the city’s broader strategy to improve service delivery and strengthen communication between residents and municipal departments.
