Woman busted for drugs valued at R 700 000 in Eldorado Park
While the female suspect is in detention, law enforcement officials have launched a manhunt for her husband who is suspected of being the main suspect in the matter.

A 39-year-old female is due to appear in court facing charges of dealing and possession of drugs.
She was arrested this past weekend following an intelligence-driven operation in Eldorado Park by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department’s (JMPD) Tactical Response Unit.
During their crime fighting duties, JMPD officers received a tip off about a Nigerian national who was selling drugs in the area.
They were also given a description of the vehicle used to transport the drugs. Following up on this information, the officers managed to trace the vehicle and located it in Brackendowns, Alberton.

“After surveillance, the JMPD officers promptly intercepted the vehicle, which was driven by the female suspect. A thorough search revealed the presence of a narcotic known as Kat,” explained the JMPD spokesperson, Superintendent Xolani Fihla in a statement.
“When questioned about the illicit items, the suspect claimed that the vehicle belonged to her husband. A further search of the suspect’s house was conducted, and more narcotics were recovered.”
Drugs with an estimated street value of R 700 000.00 were found during the search of the suspect’s house and seized.
Police also found chemicals and equipment suspected to be used in manufacturing drugs in the same house.
Superintendent Fihla said, “Subsequently, the female suspect, identified as a Nigerian national was taken into custody on charges of drug dealing and possession.
“She was detained at the Brackendowns Police Station where a case was opened for further investigation.”
