Nothing validates football fans other than giving them a sense of belonging in the growth of sports. Castrol brought the Premier League Trophy to the home of football at Maponya Mall in Soweto, on Monday April 22.

As part on their trophy tour, they presented fans of the premier league with the legendary Jay-Jay Okocha, Nigerian former professional footballer. Sowetans welcomed both the trophy and the legend himself with a South African soccer spirit and praises.

The Trophy Tour is the culmination of a competition held in February, March, and April in which customers of Castrol and BPSA have had the chance to win up to R1 million in prizes.

Okocha concluded by advising football player to remain authentic and put light on the African football identity and not imitate Europeans.

“I think we are losing our identity because we are trying to copy the European style of football. I would like to see those African flags in current football like I used to promote our style during my years,” he concluded.
