Multipurpose sports centre launched for a school in Emdeni
Several nearby local schools played in the soccer and netball tournament, which served as the sports facility's official introduction to the community.
The Tshabalala Foundation, in collaboration with the Gauteng Gambling Board, launched a multipurpose sports centre and donated six sports kits to learners at Luyolo Senior Primary School in Emdeni on November 8.
Speaking to Soweto Urban News, Nhlanhla Tshabalala, the founder and chairperson of the foundation, said they decided to assist Luyolo Senior Primary School with a sports centre to provide an opportunity for local learners to experience education holistically.

“We want education to be experienced not only in the classroom but also through sports because not every child is academically brilliant and excels in sports.
“We believe the multipurpose sports centre will give every child an opportunity to discover who they are and what talents they have,” he said.
Tshabalala added sustainable development goal four of the United Nations emphasises the importance of decent quality education as a foundation.
They believe decent education extends beyond the classroom by promoting a healthy lifestyle for the learners because they believe that a healthy body has a healthy mind.
For the launch, the school invited several nearby local schools to take part in the soccer and netball tournament, which was the sports facility’s official introduction to the community.
In an interview, Tshabalala thanked all the stakeholders who worked with them on the initiative and commended Hugh Makhanya from the Gauteng Gambling Board for his significant effort in making the day possible.
