Salem City FC overcomes early setback to defeat Dlamini All Blacks 3-1
Salem City FC triumphs 3-1 over Dlamini All Blacks in their season opener, with key goals from van Ross, Fisher, and Stainbank.

Salem City FC won 3-2 playing at home against Dlamini All Blacks at Ext 6 Soccer Field, Eldorado Park, during the Hollywoodbets Mens Regional League, on January 11.
The home side had a tough start having to chase the game after conceding two goals in the early minutes of the game.
Jaydeen van Ross levelled the score-line before Nelino Fisher and Tinodien Stainbank scored two more goals for Salem City.

Head coach of Salem City FC, Kevin Solomons, said they started the game slowly, which put them on the back foot early as they found themselves 1-0 down after 20 minutes, with Tlamini from All Blacks scoring.

However, after about 30 minutes, they found their rhythm and equalised through Van Ross.
Solomons said they stuck to their style of quick ball movement, especially in the final third.
“We definitely could have scored more goals, especially after the opposition went down to 10 men.
“We created several more chances but were not clinical enough in finishing. Nonetheless, it was an entertaining game for the supporters, full of action and end-to-end play,” said Solomons.
He said he was really happy with the result, particularly as it was their first game of the 2025 season, and it was great to get the season off to a winning start.

“Moving forward, we need to improve in converting our chances. That’s a key area for growth, as we had opportunities to finish the game off earlier.
Despite that, I am pleased with the overall performance, and I’m proud of the team for their resilience and determination.
“We are on the right track, but we will continue to work hard to strive for excellence and achieve even more success this season.”
