With over 11 million South Africans unemployed, BOSA believes it is time to shift the focus of Workers’ Day, not only to celebrate those in work but to urgently spotlight those who want to work but cannot find opportunities.
According to BOSA leader Mmusi Maimane, this is the first step to fulfilling promises that were made during elections he also encouraged young people to take action and be in leadership “ as part of the structure that we are going to establish as the Dobsonville community trust we want young people to be in leadership, I want to make it possible for young to be in councils and legislatures so that they represent south Africans’’ he further said it is time now we have youth revolution led by young people.

Build One South Africa Deputy Leader Nobuntu Hlazo-Webster emphasised the importance of empowering local businesses to succeed.
“Our townships were meant to destroy us but we survived by building spaza shops and making sure that there were economies in our townships,” she added.
“The future of work is in our townships and by that we need to have things such as factories and innovation hubs within our townships.”
Lerato Mokena who is a resident in Dobsonville said, “We hope get positive feedback in the two weeks that Mr Maimane promised in communicating with the city of Johannesburg about the way forward of this buildings.”
