“The day we last saw him, he had accompanied our father to the Bara Hospital for a checkup. When they returned, he ate and left the house.

“That was when we last saw him. We plead with residents to help us find him because our mother is not coping with his disappearance.

“She has been in and out of the intensive care unit because of stress. Her health has borne the brunt of his disappearance,” Banty said.

He added that there are allegations that his brother is using substances in the area and that he was spotted in Bara, Diepkloof Square and Alexandra, but they have not found him in these places.

“There was speculation that he was using substances and hanging out in these areas, but as the family, we didn’t see signs of substance use when he was still around.

“He was a quiet person who loved his family. We hope to find him alive so that our mother can return to her healthy self.”

The family searched independently in local hospitals and morgues, but found no leads.

“To anyone who might see him, he limps on his left leg due to a car accident he had years back, and he left the house wearing a white top with KAPA written on it, jeans and flip flops.”

Residents with information may call Banty on 082 344 3596.
