First Africa LEO event spotlights fibroid health

With support from icons like Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Dr. Tim Tebeila, the event called for greater education, research, and protection for women's health across the continent.

The first annual Africa LEO charity drive had a powerful mission, which is to raise awareness and promote research on fibroids, a health condition that disproportionately affects African women.

This milestone event brought together industry leaders, pharmaceutical giants, and advocates to address one of the most pressing yet often overlooked health issues.

The event highlighted the importance of educating and empowering women about fibroids, providing a platform for discussion and action.

Africa LEO’s initiative aims to spark meaningful change and create a lasting impact in the lives of African women.

Dr Tim Tebeila, patron and mining mogul, the legendary Yvonne Chaka Chaka, and Miss Penny Lebyane, a multi-talented broadcaster and advocate, joined the momentous occasion.

Chaka Chaka said that it is her passion to empower a young girl and this is why she got involved with Africa LEO as being involved in African issues is what drives her as a princess of Africa.

“I would like to thank all involved in helping young girls and educating them about issues affecting their health,” she said.

She sent a stern message to everyone who touches girls in the wrong way and says as African LEOs; they will play their part in protecting girls and women as a whole all over Africa.
