Executive producer at Bakwena Productions, Rashaka Muofhe, said, “Pimville is a love letter to the township spirit; raw, vibrant and enduring. We wanted to craft a show that entertains and honours the resilience, beauty and power of our communities. Bringing this story to life with SABC 2 has been a privilege.”

The cast added that the location resonates with all of them as it holds a rich history, sharing that there are places such as the Teachers’ College, amenities such as a golf course and an indoor pool, all in a local community.

“The biggest lesson I have taken from my role as a police officer is that the police go through a lot, and we downplay that as communities. A lot goes into being a police officer, which we do not take seriously, as well as the stigma around the police,” said Mabalane.
